Ben Lawers is a Mountain heath and arctic-alpine vegetation reserve in Perth and Kinross, managed by NatureScot and National Trust for Scotland. The reserve covers approximately 1340 hectares and is designated as a National Nature Reserve. The reserve is famous for its arctic-alpine plants, including the nationally scarce alpine gentian, alpine forget-me-not and mountain saxifrage. The summit area supports ptarmigan, mountain hare and golden eagle. Red grouse are common on the heather moor. The reserve has an outstanding assemblage of mosses and liverworts, particularly in the flushes and streams.
